T1 has announced that Faker has re-signed with them on a three-year contract.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok first broke out onto the League of Legends scene back in 2013 when SK Telecom wanted to build a team solely around him. At the age of 26 and with him resigning Faker will most likely finish his career in T1. Over the past couple of offseasons, rumours have been surfacing more about Faker receiving offers to leave the LCK entirely to participate in other leagues but every time has opted to stay with T1.

To coincide with the announcement of Faker’s re-signing, T1 also announced the contract extension of Kim “Sky” Ha-neul along with the additions of Kim “Roach” Kang-hee and Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon as additional coaches to aid head coach Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong in the 2023 season.

With Faker re-signing with T1, the team will move forward with the same roster as 2022, in Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon, Faker, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, as the contracts of the other players expire at the end of 2023. This roster wrote history by winning the spring split undefeated. They were runners-up for the spring season and also runners-up for the World Championship.
