Microsoft Pledges To Bring Call Of Duty To Nintendo

CEO of Microsoft Gaming and Xbox, Phil Spencer made an announcement on Twitter stating that Microsoft has entered into a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty back to Nintendo consoles along with an identical pledge to continue publishing Call of Duty to Steam as well.

The last Nintendo console to see a Call of Duty game was the Wii U. So yes, in what seems to be out of nowhere, the Xbox boss came out on Twitter announcing the ’10-year commitment’ saying:

Microsoft has entered into a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to @Nintendo following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King. Microsoft is committed to helping bring more games to more people – however they choose to play. @ATVI_AB

Following this Tweet, Spencer also confirmed that Call of Duty will still be available on Steam for the foreseeable future once the merger with Activision Blizzard has finished. The Tweet reads as follows:

I’m also pleased to confirm that Microsoft has committed to continue to offer Call of Duty on @Steam simultaneously to Xbox after we have closed the merger with Activision Blizzard King. @ATVI_AB @ValveSoftware

As mentioned before, Call of Duty’s last appearance on a Nintendo platform was during the Wii U generation with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II in 2012 and Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2013.
