The former director of Valorant has announced that he’s now working as the director of a mystery new game at Bungie. Joe Ziegler revealed the news via Twitter, confirming that he is now working at the Destiny developer.
He wrote:
“Update – Happy to announce my new home is at Bungie working on new stuff that hopefully will one day get to be played by you all,”

Ziegler is best known as one of the people who came up with the original idea for Valorant, which launched back in 2020 and now boasts millions of players. Earlier in December 2022, Zeigler announced that he was leaving Riot Games after working there for 12 years.
He tweeted back then:
“Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that after 12 great years at Riot, this week will be my last week. I am departing with a heart full of gratitude for Riot Games and all of you for the amazing memories we’ve shared together. Will update very soon with my next home.”

Most recently, Bungie is gearing up to launch Lightfall, the seventh expansion for Destiny 2, on 28 February 2023. They will then work on The Final Shaper, the next expansion which is slated to launch in early 2024. Whatever Ziegler is working on there at Bungie is likely still in early development, which means that it will probably be a while before we hear anything official about it.
With PlayStation now owning Bungie, we might be getting the next great FPS PlayStation exclusive after Guerilla Games’ Killzone. Fingers crossed.
