NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer (NBCUIN & DTC) has announced a deal with Astro, Malaysia’s leading content and entertainment company, to launch DreamWorks – the 24-hour channel dedicated to kids and family entertainment. Available from 1 February 2023, on Channel 612, DreamWorks will be offered in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Chinese language options, as part of the Kids Pack.
DreamWorks will provide kids and families with hours of entertainment, featuring award-winning, original television series such as Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, and The Boss Baby: Back in Business. The channel also presents a daily morning preschool block, DreamWorks Junior, for two to five-year-olds featuring favourites such as Noddy Toyland Detective and Dragons: Rescue Riders.
Also available on Unifi in Malaysia, the launch of DreamWorks on Astro marks a significant expansion and demand for the brand in the region, with DreamWorks reaching more than 50 million households across 100 countries to date.
To celebrate the launch of DreamWorks on Astro, the pay-TV service is offering a 15-day preview of DreamWorks (on Channel 622) to all eligible Astro customers from 15 to 31 January 2023. DreamWorks will move to Channel 612 on 1 February 2023.
