Malaysia’s Lemon Sky Announces Involvement In Ubisoft’s The Settlers New Allies

Malaysia’s Lemon Sky Studios (Lemon Sky) has announced their involvement in creating art for Ubisoft’s city-building RTS The Settlers New Allies.
The multi-faction game sparked ideas within the team with a creative brief that took on specific art styles as themes. Close to one hundred buildings seen within the game were modelled by the Lemon Sky team, shaped skillfully while maintaining distinctive styles for each theme.
Ken Foong, Chief Creative Officer & Chief Operating Officer at Lemon Sky Studios, said:
“We are extremely proud to say that Lemon Sky had a hand in the making of The Settlers: New Allies. Many of us here are a part of their loyal following of fans since it was first created back in 1993 and we couldn’t be happier for Ubisoft on the release of their latest reboot. We look forward to many more collaborations with them in the future.”
A combination of innovative imagination, efficient execution and not to mention the amazing working relationship with Ubisoft were key factors in the success of the artwork that went into the project.
Cheng-Fei Wong, Chief Executive Officer of Lemon Sky Studios, said:
“The support and guidance from the team at Ubisoft is a great example of what a constructive partnership can do in terms of nurturing the creative and art aspect of game creation. We thank Ubisoft for this amazing opportunity and we look forward to building more building-games together!”
The Settlers: New Allies was released on 17 February 2023 after a 13-year wait since the release of The Settlers 7. Lemon Sky was previously involved in several projects with major game developers/publishers in the past. These include Hi-Fi Rush, Bluepoint Games’ Demon’s Souls, Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers, Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part II, Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake and Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.
