Atomic Heart Guide: The Best Weapons & Guns To Unlock

The first-person shooter action-adventure title Atomic Heart wouldn’t be remembered just for its sci-fi setting; it’s also packed with an arsenal to remember. While your skills and abilities are great, they only feel complete with guns and weapons.

In Atomic Heart, you can craft any weapon as long as you have the blueprint and the materials required. They also take up an amount of space in your backpack: the bigger damage they deal, the more inventory slots they take up.

To gain blueprints, just progress through the main story and loot a ton of enemies and chests while you’re at it. You’ll eventually get the blueprint you need for better weapons.

Here are our top picks:

KS-23 Shotgun

The gun you start with is surprisingly awesome and can last you through the majority of Atomic Heart, provided you use your other skills like Shok and Frostbite to back it up. Our inventory space in the game is half healing items and half shotgun shells; no joke.

The best upgrades are the Muzzle Brake barrel which improves damage and rate of fire, and the Extended Magazine which lets you fire more than the default 3 shells.

MP Handgun

The MP starts out weak, but you will collect more ammo for this weapon as you progress through the main story. The gun also becomes a resource saver with the Muzzle Barrel and Extended Magazine upgrades; ammunition for it is very cheap and is found in loot boxes and common loot. It’s best to be used on regular enemies and cannon fodder; save your shotgun and energy weapons for the bosses.

Dominator Plasma Rifle

One of the better energy weapons around. It shreds through any enemy, but uses up a lot of energy. It also has a secondary fire that shoots out a slow-but-deadly giant ball of plasma.

The best upgrade for this rifle is the Vector Transducer upgrade. You may also need to pick Energy Management in your skill tree.

Pashtet Blade

Melee weapons are required in a game where ammo and resources can be scarce, so why not equip yourself with one of the fastest damage-dealing blades around? Atomic Heart’s Pashtet lets you deal with weaker foes quick thanks to its quick and hard-hitting slashes and slices.

The best upgrades for the Pashtet is the Steel Blade and Ergonomic Handle upgrades.

Kalash Assault Rifle

Want a reliable assault rifle? The Kalash is the best way to go, especially since you will accumulate some of its ammo in the middle portion of the game. It’s got auto fire and hits pretty hard, though crafting ammo for it can be costly.

The best upgrades for the Kalash assault rifle is the Muzzle Brake barrel and Collimator sight upgrade. The former reduces its recoil and ups its fire rate. The latter tracks enemies easier.
