SoundScape: The Fantastic Castlevania Tribute Of Dead Cells’ New DLC
It’s not every day you get to work on the main inspiration of your hit search action title with the roguelike twist to it. Dead Cells creator Motion Twin did just that with its new DLC dubbed Return To Castlevania, where they worked with Konami to create a fun Dead Cells roguelike experience with new Castlevania biomes that entertain.
The best part? The music absolutely slaps! The arranged versions of classic Castlevania tracks from the 80s and 90s titles, courtesy of composer Yoann Laulan, uses the Dead Cells’ atmospheric lute strings-based and percussions-heavy music to the fullest. It pays respect to the tracks made by Konami music veterans Kinuyo Yamashita, Satoe Terashima, and Michiru Yamane, while also retaining its lute-savvy identity, making for a brand-new aural experience.

We play the new arranged tracks and the original music one after the other so that you can listen to the melodies and changes, appreciating what’s modified. These include gems like the Castlevania: Symphony of the Night clock tower music to even the Super Castlevania IV prologue theme. Brilliant stuff!
