The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 8 Finale Breakdown & Easter Eggs
By Alleef Ashaari|April 19, 2023|1 Comment
The eighth and final episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia. I’ll be discussing heavy spoilers so if you haven’t seen it or want to avoid spoilers, now’s your chance to stop reading.
Meanwhile, check out my breakdown of The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6 and Episode 7 here.
The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito. The directors of the eight-episode Season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Check out my breakdown of the first three episodes of Andor, Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 7, Episode 8, Episode 9, Episode 10, Episode 11 and Episode 12 here.
Check out my breakdown of Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 1 and 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5 and Episode 6 here.

Last year, we were given the opportunity to interview none other than the former Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and current Dark Lord Of The Sith Darth Vader; Hayden Christensen himself.
Moff Gideon has been keeping clones of himself at his facility on Mandalore. However, Din Djarin ultimately destroys all of the clones.
Moff Gideon claims that somehow he bred his clones to be capable of wielding the Force. How? By injecting midi-chlorians? I guess we’ll never know.
Moff Gideon crushes the Darksaber, effectively destroying it. Maybe forever? What this means is that no one can claim to be the rightful ruler of Mandalore simply by possessing the Darksaber. Democracy for the Mandalorians?
In a blaze of fire, no less.
We’re not crying, you are.
Grogu is no longer a Foundling but is now a full Mandalorian apprentice.
The Mandalorian signet or symbol is based on the skull of the Mythosaur. The living Mythosaur means that the Mandalorians have now reclaimed Mandalore.
This shot gives tribute to one of the most iconic shots from the very first episode of the Mandalorian when we first met Din Djarin appearing at the door. In contrast, it was dark back then, but now it’s full of light.
Yes, that guy in the cowboy hat is none other than Dave Filoni himself, Star Wars Executive Producer & Executive Creative Director, creator of The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, and the second coming of George Lucas.
Meeting New Republic pilot Carson Teva again, Din Djarin proposes that he and Din Grogu be hired as independent contractors to help the New Republic hunt down Imperial Remnants in the outer rim of the galaxy.
Din Djarin restored and repaired IG-11, who is now the new Marshal of Nevarro.
The last scene sees in Din Djarin and Din Grogu relaxing at their cabin on Nevarro, enjoying some well-deserved rest. We still don’t know when we’ll see them next, but the next Star Wars series on Disney+ Hotstar will be Star Wars Visions Volume 2 on 4 May 2023 and Ahsoka, which will premiere sometime in August 2023.
Until then, may the Force be with you!
