Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently announced a new initiative called the India Hero Project, which is an extension of its existing PlayStation China Hero Project program. The China Hero Project has already helped numerous Chinese developers by supporting notable games such as F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch, ANNO: Mutationem, Boundary, EVOTINCTION, Lost Soul Aside, Convallaria, and AI-LIMIT.
The India Hero Project aims to identify talented Indian developers and provide them with the necessary support to create engaging gaming experiences for global gaming communities. According to Radhika Thakur, Sony Interactive Entertainment India’s market strategy director, this program is part of their continuous efforts to develop regional incubator programs to identify and support diverse developers worldwide. Thakur emphasized their belief in the Indian gaming market and the India Hero Project’s fuelled by this commitment.
“As part of our evolving journey to ensure that PlayStation remains the best place to play, we’re committed to developing regional incubator programs capable of identifying new and diverse developers worldwide,” Sony Interactive Entertainment India market strategy director Radhika Thakur said in an SIE.com blog post. “The India Hero Project is fueled by this commitment and our belief in the Indian gaming market.”
Through mentorship, training, and project-based investment, PlayStation will facilitate emerging talents from India, regardless of their company size, to showcase their skills. Sony Interactive Entertainment has invited interested companies to apply for the program on their website. However, to be eligible for the initiative, companies must be based in India and able to register as a PlayStation Registered Developer.
The India Hero Project is an exciting opportunity for Indian game developers to showcase their talents on a global platform. With the support of Sony Interactive Entertainment, promising developers will have access to invaluable mentorship, training, and investment, which will help them create compelling gaming experiences for players worldwide.
This initiative is a testament to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s commitment to fostering diversity and identifying new and innovative game developers from all over the world. If you’re an Indian game developer, this could be your chance to make your mark on the gaming industry, so don’t hesitate to apply to the India Hero Project today.
