LEAP 2023 Season 1 Grand Finals: Here’s How You Can Tune In

One of this year’s most-hyped amateur league tournaments focused on Malaysian constituencies is coming to a grand close.

LEAP (Liga Esports Antara Parliament) 2023 Season 1 has seen some willing up-and-coming gamers and would-be players duking it out in Mobile Legends, Gigabash, FIFA 23, and Street Fighter 6. Here’s a quick recap of the preliminaries:

Setiawangsa

Date: Saturday, 10 June 2023
Time: 10:00AM – 6:00PM
Venue: TGV AEON AU2, G77, AEON AU2 Shopping Centre, 6, Jalan Taman Setiawangsa, 37/56, AU2, Taman Keramat, 54200 Kuala Lumpur

Total Contenders: 66 registered players

The teams/players representing LEAP 2023 Setiawangsa in FIFA 23, GigaBash, Street Fighter 6, and MLBB, ranking from preliminary winner to runner-up.

  • FIFA 23 qualified players: Ahmad Farid bin Abdul Aziz & Putera Sufrie Nizam bin Subardron.
  • GigaBash qualified players: Muhammad Nur Aiman bin Nordin & Mohamad Khairulazam.
  • Street Fighter 6 qualified players: Syed Ariff Syah bin Syed & Abdul Razak bin Noh.
  • MLBB qualified teams: Team Shafiq Zulkipli & Team Safwan Haiman.

The first-ever LEAP 2023 event was a huge win! With esports players of all ages and skill levels gathering under one roof. The MP of Setiawangsa, YB Nik Nazmi officiated the launch of LEAP Season 1 Setiawangsa Preliminaries. He even got the chance to play Street Fighter 6 with our CEO, Kenn Leandre.

Each Setiawangsa player showed their dedication & skills against each other in earning a spot for the LEAP Season 1 Grand Finals, representing the Setiawangsa constituency.

Bangi

Date: Saturday, 17 June 2023
Time: 10:00AM – 6:00PM
Venue: EVO Mall, Kompleks EVO, Jalan Medan 2D, Seksyen 9, 43650 Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor

Total Contenders: 84 registered players

The teams/players representing LEAP 2023 Bangi in FIFA 23, GigaBash, Street Fighter 6, and MLBB.

  • FIFA 23 qualified players: Mohd Farhan Fahmy bin Mohd Helmy & Muhammad Danial bin Mohd Zaki.
  • GigaBash qualified players: Tengku Saifuddeen bin Tengku Noor Ashraf & Muhamad Alham Zuhri.
  • Street Fighter 6 qualified players: Hezraat Ridzuan bin Rusli & Muhammad Amirul bin Ahmadin.
  • MLBB qualified teams: Team HAQ & Team Eren.

The second event was an even larger turnout at the Bangi Preliminary LEAP 2023 tournament. Fans and gamers gathered together under one roof sharing the same passion for esports. MP of Bangi, Syahredzan Johan officiated the event and showed his support for the Bangi players who attended. He also played Street Fighter 6 with our CEO and Content Director.

We had the privileged to interview YB Syahredzan Johan on his thoughts about the esports scene in Malaysia & gaming in general.

Grand Finals Information

Congratulations to the top players of the tournament. They will be representing their respective factions in the grand finals that will take place at ATO Gaming Cafe, TTDI.
