IO Interactive’s upcoming online fantasy RPG might turn out to be an Xbox exclusive. This is according to internal Microsoft documents revealed via the ongoing Xbox/Activision and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
On a page listing “expected and previously shipped games” (via IGN), IOI Interactive is mentioned to be developing a game codenamed Project Dragon for PC and Xbox Series X/S. This could be one of two fantasy RPGs they’re currently working on, alongside their planned James Bond game.
The documents strongly indicate that this upcoming online fantasy RPG game will be an Xbox exclusive published by Xbox Game Studios. At the time of writing, IO Interactive and Xbox have yet to give their official statements.
In other related news to come out of the Xbox FTC trial, it was revealed that the upcoming Bethesda MachineGames Indiana Jones game will be an Xbox exclusive and that Starfield was originally planned for the PS5 before Microsoft purchased Bethesda. Microsoft also expects that the next-gen consoles will arrive in 2028.
