Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore Is A New Adventure Game Hugely Inspired By The Infamous CDI Zelda Games
Many The Legend of Zelda fans are quick to forget about the infamous CDI titles from Nintendo like Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. They were made with the best of intentions, but their execution left little to the imagination.
Naturally, 30 years later, someone had the bright idea of paying tribute to such a legacy with a game inspired by it. Enter Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore, published by Limited Run Games, an upcoming interactive animated adventure game purposefully tailored to look like the long-lost sequel to the CDI games. Obviously without the Zelda and Link license, of course, since Nintendo own those and would strike down anyone using them without its permission.
Here’s the description and trailer for the upcoming 2D game, terribly-made cutscenes and all:
As revealed during Limited Run Games’ digital showcase LRG3 2023, watch the announcement trailer for Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore, an upcoming interactive animated adventure game inspired by and featuring talent from the infamous Zelda CD-i games of the 1990s. Check it out to see gameplay and more.
The Kingdom of Faramore is beautifully realized by Rob Dunlavey, the artist behind the world map paintings from the games that inspired Arzette. Additionally, voiceover talent from the games that inspired Arzette will be featured in the game, including Jeffrey Rath and Bonniejean Wilbur.
Among all the Limited Run Games titles that aren’t re-releases or remasters, this official trailer has the most views. This means yes, there is demand for a tribute title to an infamously-made dank series of games from a renowned title.
Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC in 2023.
