Malaysia’s First-Ever Retailtainment Concept LEGO Certified Store Opens
By Alleef Ashaari|July 26, 2023|0 Comment
The LEGO Group has launched the first-of-its-kind retailtainment LEGO Certified Store (LCS) at Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur.
It is more than just shopping for a box of bricks as this distinct store is poised to bring the ultimate LEGO play experience closer to fans of all ages with a hybrid of digital and physical retail experiences. Customers will be able to interact with the brand in new creative ways with a few special features built-in at the store.
One highlight of the LCS is the stunningly detailed Mosaic Wall that was inspired by Malaysia’s icons, such as the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and Malayan Tiger using 37,146 pieces of LEGO bricks and 60 hours to build. The vibrant montage that represents the best of Malaysia was specially designed by Nicholas Foo, one of the 15 LEGO Certified Professionals worldwide. Additionally, there is an interactive Disruptor Unit with a movable magnifying feature that allows customers to get up close to appreciate and view the intricate details of fully built sets in the store.
Also, there is a Curated stall where The LEGO Group showcases their latest novelties such as the 10320 LEGO® Icons Eldorado Fortress, for fans alike to observe up close. Last but not least, there are Build A Minifigure stations that invite fans to let their imagination run wild and create their very own unique minifigures. Shoppers can customise a LEGO Minifigure version of themselves.
Rohan Mathur, Marketing Director of LEGO Southeast Asia, said:
“With the overwhelming support and love for The LEGO Group shown by Malaysians of all ages throughout the years, it has inspired us to reimagine in-store experiences to become more interactive and immersive to become an extension of play – where there is something for everyone be it adults, children or even collectors.
We believe that hands-on play in-store is vital to creating meaningful connections, where customers will be able to have fun while participating in brick-inspired activities.”
Located in the heart of the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur, this LCS with a retailtainment concept is easily accessible via multiple modes of transportation and is housed at Lot 1-19, Level 1, Sunway Velocity Mall. With The LEGO Group’s growing presence that has been well-received among families with children as well as adults globally, the opening of this retailtainment concept store further reinforces the brand’s ethos to bring the power of play to the table.
To celebrate the new store opening, there will be a few exclusive offers up for grabs, while stocks last. The first 100 shoppers who purchase any LEGO playsets will receive additional Box of Bricks’ BOB+ membership points. Those eager to add to their LEGO collection can look forward to more deals, as the first 200 shoppers who purchase any LEGO playsets, are entitled to receive a RM50 Cash Voucher that can be redeemed with the next purchase above RM300 on any LEGO playsets.
To sweeten the deal, shoppers who spend RM299 on any LEGO playsets will receive a complimentary LEGO Folder Bag, while those who spend RM499 on any LEGO playsets, will receive a complimentary LEGO Umbrella.
There is also a social media contest for people to win exciting prizes. To participate, take a photo of yourself at the brand-new LEGO Certified Store at Sunway Velocity Mall and post it on social media with the hashtag #LEGOMY to be in the running.
