Action-Platformer Savant: Ascent REMIX Delayed To Late September

Publisher and developer D-Pad Studio has shifted gears for Savant – Ascent REMIX PC version, from its previously planned 15 September release window to 29 September. Versions for consoles and mobile will be released at a later date. This decision was made due to a development delay.

Initially, the game was introduced as a remastered version of Owlboy’s developer’s debut. However, over time, it has evolved into something much grander. Now, players can expect five expansive stages that are twice the size of the original game. These stages are not your typical levels – they offer a thrilling experience where you’ll find yourself avoiding Laser Sharks and battling immortal Samurai. As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to take down robotic space invaders. The toolkit gets a boost as well, with double jumps, cancel jumps, and mid-air power shots.

You take on the Alchemist’s role in this shoot-em-up platformer. You are booted out of your lofty tower, and you must climb back up. The game consists of two platforms that could be anything from moving elevators to floating space junk. Quick reflexes and sharp shooting will be your companions along the way. Your mission is to survive the deadly trip back to the summit.

In addition to its existing features, the game now offers a new endless Survival Mode, providing players with an endless challenge to test their skills and endurance. Furthermore, there are also new difficulty modes available, including an NES-style Hardcore Mode that eliminates checkpoints, making the game even more intense and unforgiving.

Several Modes To Play

Normal Mode – You can conquer the tower at your own pace. Checkpoints are set between each stage, as well as before each boss encounter. Pick up additional lives as you ascend.
Hardcore Mode – Get ready to tackle a greater challenge, master your abilities, and complete all stages in one go – no checkpoints, no extra lives.
Survival Mode – Your time is limited, enemies will swarm in greater numbers, and bosses appear out of nowhere while you try to survive.

To enhance the overall gaming experience, the developers have collaborated with acclaimed Norwegian musician Savant to compose 36 new songs exclusively for the game. These compositions add a unique and immersive element to the gameplay, elevating the overall audio experience for players. With these exciting additions, players can explore new gameplay modes and enjoy the captivating melodies crafted by Savant, making the gaming experience even more thrilling and engaging.

The full soundtrack will be released as planned on 15 September on Steam, and players who purchase the soundtrack will get a 50% discount when the game launches.

Savant – Ascent REMIX is set to launch for PC via Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam on 29 September 2023. The PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android versions will be available at a later date.
