Bleed Esports Acquire Ex-Paper Rex Player Egoist

Amidst all the unpredictability in the world of VALORANT, where the top-tier and second-tier teams are in constant flux, one thing that’s etched in players’ memories is facing off against the same team that once dashed their hopes in the Ascension Finals.

Javier “Egoist” Chua, formerly of Paper Rex and X10 Esports, recently joined the ascending squad of Bleed Esports. With just one more spot to fill in their roster for the upcoming 2024 season, it’s an exciting time for the team. Egoist’s addition brings a new level of versatility and talent to Bleed’s maiden voyage into the top-tier VALORANT scene, building on their regional dominance throughout 2022 and 2023.

When it comes to familiarity, Egoist is no stranger to Bleed. Back in the Southeast Asia and Pacific region, FUL, a multi-sport group, fought their way to victory, securing their Ascension spot. X10 found themselves as the last line of defense, and it was a bitter pill to swallow as they missed out on Ascension.

Egoist’s claim to fame lies in his clutch performances in the cross-tier-two VALORANT scene. His clutch stats are off the charts. In Split 2, he faced clutch situations 97 times, emerging victorious in a staggering 22 of them – a league-leading 22.7 percent success rate in the region.

This remarkable performance is in sync with his role, primarily playing as a Sentinel and handling agents like Killjoy and Cypher, the guardians of the team regardless of which side they’re on. While his other stats might not steal the spotlight, his unwavering consistency within his team is paramount. Even when Bleed reigned as the top regional team, X10 consistently held their own alongside them, despite their shortcomings.

It’s a tale as old as time for Egoist – always favoring strong teams but often falling short in the biggest games. In 2021, prior to his break, he found himself consistently finishing second with Team SMG, losing out to teams like Paper Rex and X10 when they were on the ascent. Now, he has the chance to prove his mettle against the crème de la crème of the Pacific tier-one competition. If Bleed aims to continue their journey as a successful VALORANT team, Egoist is the missing piece they’ve been looking for, and he’s more than capable of stepping up to the plate.
