Hasbro Unveils Overwatch Action Figures
We’ve got awesome news for you action figure enthusiasts, extra hype points if you happen to be a fan of Overwatch. Following earlier leaks of a Mercy action figure by Hasbro, it’s now official that we are getting her and more.
Lucio, Sombra, Tracer, Reaper, Soldier 76, Ana, Pharah and Reinhardt are set to join Mercy in the first wave action figure lineup by Hasbro.
According to Gameinformer, the standard figures retail from US$22.99 for single figures, and US$49.99 for twin packs. Two packs will be made available first, with Pharah pairing up with Mercy and Soldier linking up with Ana (in her Shrike skin) being sold in pairs.
The first oversized hero made available, Reinhardt will retail for US$49.99 so you can expect the likes of Winston, Roadhog and Orisa to follow the same pricing structure. Our guess is that D.Va and Orisa to be retailing for slightly though.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsUl_BsYI30&w=560&h=315]Based on initial promotional pictures, expect these figures to carry similar articulation profile as seen on Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line – ball-jointed necks, butterfly shoulder joints and double-jointed elbows and knees (for male characters only). Don’t ask why – it has always been the case with their Marvel Legends line and we doubt Hasbro would change for their Overwatch line, at least for now.
Lastly, the fact that the first Ana figure being released is in her alternate skin, expect Hasbro to milk the Overwatch franchise as much as they can, with alternate and special edition and convention releases coming out in the near future.
