If you think you’ve survived hell in Amnesia: The Bunker, think again. Publisher and developer Frictional Games has released the Halloween update for the survival horror game, which includes two new game modes, a new health system, and much more.

Based on the recent press release, it was announced that players will have the opportunity to craft their “own horror experience” through the Custom mode. This mode offers over 30 different settings and parameters, allowing players to truly personalize their horror gameplay. In addition, players will have the chance to immerse themselves in the intense “Shell Shock” difficulty, described as the most challenging and intense Amnesia experience to date.

Aside from the new game modes, the latest update brings a multitude of fresh features. These additions encompass a range of new creature behaviours, rendering their actions more unpredictable. A new Sublevel Fuse system will be implemented, compelling players to restore electricity to light certain bunker zones.

Moreover, the Hardcore Health System will be introduced. When it is active, players will experience a gradual loss of health when bleeding. The role of bandages will undergo a change, as they will no longer restore health but will only serve to stop bleeding, whereas medkits will restore health and stop bleeding. Making the experience even more surreal than ever before.

Also, there will be more lockers with their combinations scattered around. To gain access to the Locked Fuel Storage room, players will need to search for the combination hidden within the bunker. Plus, saving progress in the game will require fuel consumption.

As for weapons, the revolver will no longer be readily available to players at the beginning. Instead, they will need to unlock a storage locker to arm themselves. Not to forget, the previously safe room is no longer a secure place, introducing an element of suspense and danger. For those who wish to practice their skills, a training ground has been introduced.

Amnesia: The Bunker is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam.
