Counter-Strike 2’s Second Major Will Be Heading To Shanghai, China

Perfect World Esports has officially announced that they will host and organize the second Counter-Strike 2 Major in 2024, set to take place in Shanghai, China.

This confirmation follows earlier speculation that the Major for 2024 would be held in Shanghai, a shift prompted by reports of Valve’s plan to revamp the Counter-Strike Majors schedule.

HLTV.org initially broke the news about Shanghai being considered as the location, and now Perfect World Esports has substantiated these rumours by confirming their selection as the official hosts and organizers. They took to Twitter to share the news, stating, “Perfect World Esports will be the host and organizer of the second Counter-Strike 2 Major of 2024, to be held in Shanghai, China. See you there.”

While the first Major of 2024 is scheduled for March in Copenhagen, Denmark, the date and venue for the second Major in Shanghai have not been disclosed.

It’s worth noting that Valve’s updated Major schedule will come into effect in 2025, shifting the tournaments to the end of the tournament seasons instead of the middle, as it will be in 2024. In 2025, Majors are set to occur between 9–22 June and 1–14 December, with a similar schedule expected in 2026 between 8–21 June and 30 November–13 December.
