Lego Fortnite Dominates Player Counts: New Mode Surpasses Battle Royale Popularity

The newly launched Lego Fortnite is currently attracting more players than the traditional Fortnite Battle Royale. As of now, the Lego mode of the game has surpassed 2.1 million players during peak times, while the primary Battle Royale mode has slightly over 2 million players.

The game’s two recently introduced modes, Rocket Racing (developed by Epic acquisition Psyonix) and Fortnite Festival (developed by Epic acquisition Harmonix), have player counts of just under 800,000 and 600,000, respectively.

Fortnite’s Lego mode offers a survival and crafting-themed experience similar to Minecraft. In this mode, players collect Lego items within the Fortnite world and use them to construct houses, buildings, and other objects. To coincide with the mode’s launch, over 1200 in-game costumes have received free Lego variations.

Although not all Fortnite skins will receive Lego versions, every original Epic-made skin is expected to get one, excluding potential licensing issues with the numerous officially licensed characters in the game. Some licensed properties like Star Wars and Marvel have also received Lego versions of their in-game skins, likely facilitated by existing licensing agreements between Lego and Disney.

It’s worth noting that Lego typically avoids collaborating with adult properties, making it unlikely for characters such as the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise or Robocop to receive Lego versions.
