Rise Of The Ronin Pre-Orders Are Up

Koei Tecmo is now opening up orders for its upcoming samurai open-world game.

It’s called Rise of the Ronin, and it’s a PlayStation 5 exclusive featuring sword-fighting, gunplay, and a whole lot of enemy/ronin slaying. The game is up for pre-order, with the Digital Deluxe Edition containing the following:

  • Iga Ninja’s Staff
  • Toyokuni Paired Swords
  • Bando Warrior Armor set
  • Japanese Formal Wear set
  • Digital art book
  • Digital soundtrack

If you pre-order the game before its 22nd March 2024 release date, you’ll get these Ninja Gaiden and Nioh-themed combat styles:

  • Hayabusa-ryu for Katana
  • Hayabusa-ryu for Naginata
  • Nioh-ryu for Katana
  • Aisu Kage-ryu for Katana
  • Early access to Iga Ninja’s Katana
  • Early access to Iga Ninja’s Armor set

Right now, you can order from places like Play-Asia. No word on whether these pre-orders are meant for the Asian/Southeast Asian release of the game. We’ll be sure to update this news piece when PlayStation Asia gives us an update. Check out the game’s trailer and key features below:

  • Shape a Dynamic Story: As a masterless warrior—a Ronin, your destiny is your own. See the story unfold in different ways depending on the choices you make and the characters you ally with along the way. Face critical mission decisions—like whether to assassinate or protect key figures, and shape the course of history through a rich multi-choice system.
  • Engage in Deep Accessible Combat: From the veteran developers of Nioh and Ninja Gaiden, Rise of the Ronin offers deeply engaging yet accessible combat, with layers of complexity suitable for any playstyle. Face your foes with a selection of close-quarters weaponry or engage from afar with authentic period firearms.
  • Explore a Historically-Inspired World: The “Bakumatsu” period heralds the end of the Shogunate as a new era begins and East and West collide. Experience this cultural revolution across an open world where you’ll meet the key figures who’ll shape the course of history, and the ordinary citizens seeking a guiding light in the darkness.

Rise of the Ronin will be out on 22nd March 2024 for PlayStation 5.
