Double Eleven Confirms Prison Architect 2; Coming To Consoles & PC

Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Double Eleven have revealed the 3D sequel to the critically acclaimed prison management simulator, Prison Architect. The upcoming title is said to offer enhanced simulation systems, expanded gameplay options, and a wealth of creative tools for players to utilize. The game will also feature an innovative connection system that enables prisoners to interact with one another.

Double Eleven game director Gareth Wright expressed his excitement regarding this development, sharing his thoughts with fans and players:

“In Prison Architect 2, our team set out to create the next level in management gameplay. A greater degree of player freedom, impactful choices, and inmate simulation come together to provide an enhanced presentation of prison management, in a 3D world. Much loved features make a return to help you manage your inmates, quell riots, prevent escapes and share your prisons, but now cross-platform! In addition to a new upgrade system, a new Career Mode, and more. We look forward to seeing how players get creative with multiple floors and catwalks to finally construct and expand in 3D. And then optimize and balance their prison’s safety, security and self-betterment.”

In Prison Architect 2, players are provided with the necessary tools to construct intricate prison compounds with a high degree of creative freedom. Not only is the game in 3D format, but it also requires players to manage every aspect of their prison, including building facilities, meeting inmates’ needs, and ensuring the financial stability of the facility.

What’s more, the game also introduces a dynamic connection system between the prisoners, allowing players to observe their friendships, partnerships, and rivalries. This intricate network impacts who the inmates choose to associate with, fight, or even team up with, adding an extra layer of depth to the game’s strategic elements. With its improved simulation systems, enhanced player control, and limitless creative possibilities, Prison Architect 2 sets a new standard for prison construction and management gameplay.

Every decision holds significant importance and yours holds the fate of your penitentiary. With more control than ever before, you now have greater authority over inmates, prison policies, architecture, and more. This presents both opportunities for success and the potential for setbacks. Players will be required to meticulously plan their actions or face the consequences of escapes, gang wars, and other costly and destructive issues.

Prison Architect 2 is slated to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam on 27 March 2024.
