The sixth episode of Invincible Season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video Malaysia. Check out my spoiler-free review of Invincible Season 2 by heading over here.
Check out my breakdown of Invincible Season 2 Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4 and Episode 5 here.
The synopsis reads:
Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season 1, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.
Starring Steven Yeun, with Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons. Joining the Season 2 cast are Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, Rob Delaney, Calista Flockhart, Phil LaMarr, Luke MacFarlane, Tatiana Maslany, Scott McNairy, Jay Pharoah, Ella Purnell, Tim Robinson, Ben Schwartz, Rhea Seehorn, Lea Thompson, Paul F. Tompkins, Shantel VanSanten, and more.
Created by Robert Kirkman (and artists Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley), Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson who learns that he has inherited incredible powers from his superhero alien father, Omni-Man. The comic series ran for 144 issues from 2003 to 2018, with many spinoffs and its own cohesive shared universe.
I’ll be discussing heavy spoilers so if you haven’t seen it or want to avoid spoilers, now’s your chance to stop reading.
Meet Oliver Grayson, everyone.
He’s going to grow up FAST. You’ll see why I’m saying that…
The Immortal is still reeling from the death of Dupli-Kate and he’s taking out his grief by fighting Allen The Alien.
This also happened in the comics.
If you’re wondering what’s up with Nolan Grayson AKA Omni-Man’s books, well, there is something to them.
The books, while fictional, are actually based on Omni-Man real-life experiences. Basically, he’s recounting his past experiences of meeting other aliens who were threats to the Viltrumites.
One of the two books seen in the show is The Man With the Invincible Gun. There was actually an alien named Space Racer whose gun can both hurt and kill Viltrumites. However, he was defeated by Nolan.
Meanwhile, Savage Planet, Savage Beasts recounts Nolan’s meeting with the alien race known as the Rognarr, who were strong enough to fight toe-to-toe with Viltrumites.
Both the Space Racer (who is actually still alive) and his gun, as well as the Rognarr, will be used to fight against the Viltrumites later on.
Get ready for the Invincible War.
But with there being only two episodes left in Invincible Season 2, we might be getting the Invincible War in Season 3 and Season 2 will probably end with fighting the Sequids again.
Until next week, excelsior!
