By Alleef Ashaari|May 15, 2024|0 Comment
Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that Mortal Kombat 2 will premiere on 24 October 2025.
The sequel to 2021’s Mortal Kombat reboot will arrive a whopping four years later after the first movie.
It is written by Jeremy Slater, best known for the Disney Plus Marvel series “Moon Knight.” Simon McQuoid, who directed “Mortal Kombat,” returns to direct the follow-up. Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Damon Herriman, Tati Gabrielle and Martyn Ford star, with Chin Han, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada. Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger and Roy Lee are producing.
Last year, Mortal Kombat 2 added Adeline Rudolph, who made her acting debut as part of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, as Kitana. Rudolph will play Kitana, a character who was first introduced in 1993’s Mortal Kombat II. In the game’s lore, Kitana has a close bond with Jade, a character who will be played by Tati Gabrielle in Mortal Kombat 2. The character was originally known as the daughter of Outworld emperor Shao Kahn until she learns her true father was murdered by Shao Kahn when he conquered Edenia. She then becomes one of the good guys and is also the love interest of Mortal Kombat character Liu Kang.
Besides Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, Adeline Rudolph also starred in CW’s Riverdale and co-starred in Netflix’s Resident Evil series. She is currently filming the female lead in Hellboy The Crooked Man, a new Hellboy movie reboot. Meanwhile, The Boys actor Karl Urban will play the iconic Johnny Cage.
