Hours before Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is about to be released on Xbox Series and PC (Steam), there have been recent tidbits to reassure the following: Ninja Theory may be safe from the Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios chopping block.

The company has shared this recent Twitter message from studio head Dom Matthews, stating that making video games is difficult and are glad to be at the home stretch of releasing the game.

“Making video games is difficult. Much like Senua, we as a team have been guided by a conviction to achieve our quest: To make a game that sinks you deep into Senua’s world and to take you on a journey that leaves you thinking and feeling. I believe we have achieved our quest and I hope you’ll agree. I’m very proud of the game, very proud of our team, and very proud of you, our fans, who have supported us on this magical journey.”

After that piece of news, insiders like Jez Corden and Septic Sauce mentioned that Ninja Theory’s next greenlit project is Hellblade 3.

“According to sources familiar, their next game has alr been greenlit.”

“Yep as I said on my show and Discord, Hellblade 3 has already been green lit. Xbox gave Ninja Theory assurances already apparently after the Tango fiasco. Let’s see if they keep their word mind. But I’m not worried.”

For those worried if Ninja Theory will end up getting shut down like Tango Gameworks, this may be reassuring news. Things could still happen from now until then, and the Hellblade 3 rumour has yet to be officially announced, but things may be looking up for the UK-based developer.
