Selangor Red Giants Dethrone HomeBois At Season 13 MPL Malaysia Grand Finals
The Selangor Red Giants claimed victory over the Homebois with a 4-2 win in the Grand Finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia. Attended by Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, this victory secured an unbeaten Season 13 for the Red Giants, who will now represent Malaysia at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The MSC 2024 boasts a life-changing prize pool of US$ 3,000,000 (~RM 14 million). HomeBois, finishing second, will enter the Wild Card stage to compete for a spot on the main stage.
Selangor Red Giants Head Coach, Michael “Arcadia” Angelo Bocado expressed optimism about his team’s prospects at MSC 2024 during the post-Grand Finals press conference.

The MPL Malaysia, organized by MOONTON Games and IO Esports, and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Esports Integrated (ESI), remains the country’s longest-running and most popular esports league.
In an exclusive press conference, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zahid bin Hamidi, highlighted the government’s ongoing support for the esports industry at the cabinet level. As Chairman of the Sports Development Cabinet Committee (JKPS), he emphasized his commitment to furthering esports recognition. He also encouraged the Selangor Red Giants and Homebois to proudly represent Malaysia at MSC 2024, stating, “Engrave the brilliant name of Malaysia on the international stage.”
According to Esports Charts, the Season 13 Grand Finals set a new record for Malaysian esports viewership, reaching 610,943 peak concurrent viewers (PCV). This surpasses the previous high of 551,847 PCV set in the previous season of MPL Malaysia.
