Ubisoft Confirms Multiple Assassin’s Creed Remakes in Development

Ubisoft has revealed that it is working on old Assassin’s Creed games, which are expected to arrive in the coming years.
In a recent interview on the Ubisoft website, CEO Yves Guillemot discussed a wide range of topics, including the future of Ubisoft and games as a service title. Among the topics covered was the future of Assassin’s Creed, which is set to debut a new entry later this year with Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Guillemot replied that the series would see a variety of games in the coming years, including numerous remakes:
“Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich. Secondly, to answer your question, there will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which is going to be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’re going to surprise people, I think.”
Last year, a report suggested that Ubisoft had begun work on a remake of the popular Assassin’s Creed entry Black Flag. If the rumors surrounding Black Flag turn out to be true, it will be a good way for the developers to gain experience in remaking games before moving on to more significant updates for the earlier entries in the franchise.
While there’s still plenty of time before Ubisoft fleshes out its Assassin’s Creed remake plans, the next game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is set to launch on 15 November 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
