Hi-Rez Studios and First Watch Games, the publisher and developer of Rogue Company, have announced the removal of all Dr Disrespect-related content from their popular third-person shooter. In response to this decision, affected players will be compensated with the game’s in-game currency, Rogue Bucks, rather than a refund of the real money spent.

A statement on the Rogue Company X account read: “Hey Rogue Company, we have disabled Dr. Disrespect content previously available in the game. We will provide full Rogue Buck refunds to any impacted account this week.”

This move by Hi-Rez Studios comes as the latest in a series of companies distancing themselves from Dr Disrespect, also known as Guy Beahm, after allegations surfaced accusing him of misconduct involving a minor. Beahm addressed the allegations in a lengthy statement, admitting to sending private messages to a minor on Twitch that “sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate,” though he claimed there were no “real intentions behind these messages.”

In the wake of these accusations, Beahm’s own studio, Midnight Society, announced its decision to sever ties with him. The studio stated, “While these facts are difficult to hear and even more difficult to accept, it is our duty to act with dignity on behalf of all individuals involved, especially the 55 developers and families we have employed along with our community of players.”

Additionally, accessories maker Turtle Beach ended its multi-year partnership with Beahm, which involved promoting their products and aiding in the design of new gaming gear.

Dr Disrespect, once a leading personality on Twitch, faced an unexpected ban and the termination of an exclusive deal with the platform in June 2020. This deal was reportedly worth up to $10 million a year. The reason for the ban was never publicly disclosed, and although Beahm threatened legal action in 2021, both parties eventually stated that the issue was resolved without any admission of wrongdoing.
