PLAYISM, WSS Playground, and Team Ladybug have announced that their upcoming pixel-art cyberpunk metroidvania game, Blade Chimera has been delayed with no new release date.
It was originally slated to release for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in August this year. The decision is made due to the team needs “extra polishing and quality improvements”. However, they have assured that updates will be made on the new release date as they carefully monitor the game’s development.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to delay Blade Chimera’s release date to allow for extra polishing and quality improvements.
We will share any updates regarding the new release date as we carefully monitor development so please stay tuned. We sincerely apologize to those who have been patiently waiting but we are working hard to further improve and elevate the quality of the game before delivering it to you all. We hope you continue supporting us and the developers by wishlisting Blade Chimera and please keep an eye out on our upcoming announcements”.
Blade Chimera is a brand new original cyberpunk metroidvania game by developer Team Ladybug, the team behind the critically acclaimed 2D Metroidvanias Touhou Luna Nights, the Touhou Project fan game which has sold over 50,000 copies. Team Ladybug has also created titles such as Drainus and Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth and has showcased remarkable talent when it comes to pixel art visuals.
The story follows Shin, a Demon Hunter and the demon Lux, which can transform into your main weapon, the Lumina Sword, allowing you to manipulate the environment and fend off threats in a desolate world. In addition to the Lumina Sword, players will have access to a variety of weapons such as daggers and guns, each offering unique combat mechanics. The game also includes a skill tree system that allows players to unlock and improve abilities as they progress.
So far, the game looks remarkable promise and as the saying goes, “A late game is better than a bad game”.
