Global interactive entertainment giant HoYoverse is set to release Genshin Impact Version 5.0, titled “Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn,” on 28 August. In this update, players can explore the sixth major nation of Teyvat, Natlan, and team up with local warriors Kachina, Kinich, and Mualani, as well as the Saurians, the region’s dragon-like companions.

Natlan, known as the Nation of Pyro, lies to the west of the Sumeru desert and is home to six diverse tribes. In Version 5.0, players will journey through three of these tribes and meet three distinct types of Saurians, creatures that have evolved to live in harmony with humans. These Saurians aren’t just companions; they offer unique abilities that will be crucial in navigating the towering cliffs and flowing springs of Natlan. From tunnelling underground to scaling steep cliffs, these creatures, such as the Tepetlisaurus, Yumkasaurus, and Koholasaurus, will be key allies in your adventure.

At the heart of Natlan’s culture is the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, where the Champion of each tribe is crowned through fierce tournaments. Players will need to reach Adventure Rank 28 and have completed the Archon Quests in Liyue to begin Natlan’s Archon Quest, which will take them deep into this arena.

The new characters introduced in this update are deeply rooted in Natlan’s traditions. Kachina, a Geo polearm wielder, is a four-star character from the Children of Echoes tribe. She has the ability to scale walls and cliffs using her Turbo Twirly. Kinich, a five-star Dendro warrior from the Scions of the Canopy, is skilled with a claymore and a grappling hook, perfect for scaling heights and launching powerful attacks. Mualani, a Hydro five-star character, hails from the People of the Springs and rides her Sharky Surfboard to navigate water, liquid Phlogiston, and land.

Each of these characters brings unique abilities that enhance party members’ skills, whether it’s restoring stamina, accumulating Phlogiston, or increasing movement speed. Players will need to manage Phlogiston to fully harness these powers strategically.

Genshin Impact’s fourth anniversary is also on the horizon, and HoYoverse is celebrating with special rewards during Version 5.0. Players can look forward to Intertwined Fate, Primogems, exclusive gadgets, and even a free five-star character from the Standard Wish lineup.
