Publisher Japanime Digital and developers illuCalab and FLIPFLOPs have released an exciting major update for the online deckbuilder card game, Heart of Crown Online. This major update brings a range of new features, including the highly anticipated Ranked Match mode, a new princess named Ohka, additional cards, background music, sound and visual effects, as well as changes to the title screen and main menu.
Heart of Crown is a digital adaptation of the physical card game that was first launched in 2011 and has garnered over 50,000 copies in sales in Japan. The digital version is based on the HEART of CROWN 2nd Edition, which was reintroduced in 2022.
The game’s premise revolves around four-players embodying one of the seven princesses vying for the throne, aiming to bring order to the kingdom, expand territory, and garner the support of influential figures such as senators and dukes. Plus, Heart of Crown Online offers online cross-play, allowing players to engage with one another seamlessly.
Here’s the official rundown of the game’s story:
“In a wild time when swords and magic still ruled the world, an empire had united the entire continent and ended a long war.
However, before the peace could be solidified, the great emperor fell ill,
without a successor in place……If this continues, we could be back to a war-torn world!
You are one of the most powerful people in the empire. You must quickly establish the emperor’s throne and ensure the unity and peace of the continent.
The emperor had no male children, but fortunately, he had seven candidates to succeed him, including two princesses of direct descent. Now, let’s get the princess of your dreams to ascend to the throne!”
To celebrate the major update, Heart of Crown Online will be available at a 20% discount for 2 weeks, starting from 6th September 2024. This discount presents a great opportunity for players to grab the game in its Steam Early Access version, which made its debut on 23rd April 2024.
