By Alleef Ashaari|September 4, 2024|0 Comment
Disney+ Hotstar has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Alien Earth TV series, which will premiere sometime in 2025.
The series comes from creator Noah Hawley, best known for being the showrunner for TV shows such as Fargo and Legion.
The synopsis reads:
“When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”
Alien Earth is set to be the first story in the franchise that takes place on planet Earth and chronologically, it is set 30 years before the events of the original 1979’s Alien.
For instance, Fede Alvarez’s recent movie, Alien Romulus, takes place 20 years after the events of 1979’s Alien.
In Alien Earth, Sydney Chandler is playing a character named Wendy in the series, said to be “a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult”.
It will also star Babou Ceesay (“Guerrilla”), Jonathan Ajayi (“Wonder Woman 1984”), Erana James (“Uproar”), Lily Newmark (“Sex Education”), Diêm Camille (“Washington Black”), Adrian Edmondson (“War & Peace”), Timothy Olyphant (“Fargo”), David Rysdahl (“Fargo”), Essie Davis (The Babadook), Alex Lawther (The End of the F*cking World), Samuel Blenkin (“Black Mirror”), Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger), Sandra Yi Sencindiver (“Foundation”), and Moe Bar-El (The Peripheral).
In the meantime, head on over here for our glowing full review of Alien Romulus. If you’ve watched the movie, head on over here for our breakdown of the movie’s ending, post-credits and easter eggs.
