Gigabash Mighty DLC Brings In Two Awesome New Playstyles For 2024

Passion Republic has launched some new characters for its long-standing versus kaiju game Gigabash. Arguably the only one in existence in this generation of gaming, this 3D brawler not only has original kaijus in its base roster, but also Godzilla and Ultraman as playable characters with their own skills and moves.

Today on 6th September, kaiju brawler fans will get to check out 2 more giants: the combiner robot R.O.J.A.K and four-legged space monster Balzarr. Here’s the breakdown on both of them.

R.O.J.A.K (stands for Robot of Justice Against Kaijus) is clearly a combiner robot that pays tribute to the iconic Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ Megazord, colours and all. It has a bit of everything for its fighting kit: a zoning tool, a multi-hit charging attack, and a projectile durian grenade. The robot’s unique skill is that it can power itself up and move faster if all of its parts connect an attack. That means landing each different attack from R.O.J.A.K to get a temporary power boost, which is harder than it sounds in a four player free-for-all let alone a 1v1 match.

R.O.J.A.K’s Ultimate makes him transform into a tank with a mess-load of AoE moves; a great attack to get out of tight spaces and outmaneuver most kaijus you fight.

Balzarr is basically modeled after Power Rangers villain Goldarr, except he’s on all fours and fights with a giant sword attached to his tail. He’s fast, loves hit-and-run tactics, and even has a Predator Stance that gives him access to two lunging moves; one on the ground and one in the air.

His Ultimate is a kaiju version of Marvel VS Capcom Spider-Man’s Maximum Spider. He darts across the screen in zig-zag formation, hitting anything in his way, and then jumps out of the center and divebombs to the ground with a hard-hitting AoE drop. It’s really cool to see it in action and when it connects; it’s especially easy to do so in a multiplayer brawl when everyone isn’t paying attention to the blue gold lion with the tail sword.

You can check out our gameplay and high-level CPU fights on the videos below. The Gigabash Mighty DLC pack costs US$5.99 and is available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
