The Fable has its Own Roguelike Manga Hybrid Game
By Alisha Alix|September 19, 2024|0 Comment
Publisher Kodansha and developer Mono Entertainment have unveiled The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike, set to launch on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam sometime in 2025.
The game offers a unique blend of roguelike deckbuilding mechanics and creating a manga. Players will utilize randomly dealt manga panels as cards to construct their very own manga pages. These panels depict diverse scenes, each with its own set of stats and effects. By assembling these panels to form manga pages during battles will influence the character’s actions.
Players can also undertake various missions associated with each panel, such as frying a mackerel or arranging items in a row. The trailer also teased a scene reminiscent of Toge Productions’ Coffee Talk, featuring interactions with different characters in a bartender role.
Beyond intense battles, the game promises a plethora of mini games that allow players to immerse themselves in scenes from The Fable. Fans of the original manga will be delighted to find popular scenes making an appearance in the game as well.
The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike will offer language support in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, ensuring accessibility for a wide audience.
For those unfamiliar with The Fable, the original manga debuted in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in November 2014 and concluded in November 2019 after 22 volumes. The series garnered acclaim, winning the Best General Manga award at the 41st annual Kodansha Awards in 2017.
