New Like A Dragon Side Game Announced; Spotlights On Fan-Favourite Goro Majima & Pirates
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|September 20, 2024|0 Comment
Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios (of Yakuza/Like A Dragon fame) will be releasing another spin-off action title in the veins of Like A Dragon Gaiden. This time, the focus is on the series’ other popular character: Goro Majima.
The title is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii (or Pirates in Hawaii in Japan), and it’s an action-adventure real-time title like Gaiden. The premise is Goro Majima ends up on a beach and has amnesia, so he doesn’t know who he is. Pretty soon he is embroiled in fighting against the bad guys from Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, involving waste dumping and such.
Goro also gets to be a pirate and has his own ship to sail the Seven Seas. He can switch between his Mad Dog style of fighting (fast, shadow clones stuff) or wield dual blades and act all pirate-like in a swashbuckling fighting style. In Sea Dog Style, his swords are laced with fire and he has flintlock pistols to use as ranged attacks.
He also will partake in minigames from Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth (like the FoodPanda-esque one) and check out exotic locales like Madlantis. The list of minigames include Crazy Delivery, Dragon Kart, Minato Girls, and Karaoke (among others).
The new Like A Dragon game will be out on 28 February 2025 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
