2024 League of Legends Worlds Anthem “Heavy Is The Crown” Out Now

Riot Games has released the official anthem for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds), and it’s a big one—”Heavy Is The Crown” by none other than Linkin Park and is available to stream on various platforms, with a music video on YouTube.

This marks an exciting moment for Linkin Park, as “Heavy Is The Crown” follows their smash hit “The Emptiness Machine,” which helped the band make a powerful comeback after a seven-year break. Even more exciting, their upcoming eighth studio album, From Zero, is scheduled for release on 15 November.

Mike Shinoda expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with Riot Games, highlighting how the anthem captures the band’s signature sound while bringing in fresh energy. Riot Games’ Global Head of Music, Maria Egan, added that the Worlds anthem has become a fan-favourite event each year, and this year’s song powerfully ties into the themes of the 2024 tournament.

“Heavy Is The Crown” continues the tradition of iconic Worlds anthems, following the footsteps of past hits by artists like Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X, Zedd, and NewJeans. Last year’s anthem, “GODS” by NewJeans, broke records for the biggest launch in Worlds anthem history, contributing to a staggering 10 billion total streams across all platforms.

As the top teams from nine regions compete for the ultimate title, the 2024 Worlds promises to be one of the most-watched esports events globally, continuing its legacy as a highlight in esports. Do check out our schedule for Worlds 2024 as the global event kicks off very soon on 25 September.
