BOOM Esports Replaces Bleed Esports For 2025 VCT Pacific Season
By Lewis "lickety" Larcombe|October 4, 2024|0 Comment
Bleed Esports’ stint in the VALORANT Champions Tour Pacific has been unexpectedly cut short, as the team failed to meet key obligations set by Riot Games. Due to non-compliance with the Team Participation Agreement and other critical requirements, Bleed has been removed from the league, marking a significant shift in the roster for 2025.
In a statement, Riot Games explained that while removing a team is never an easy decision, Bleed Esports’ consistent operational failures left them with no choice. Affected players were notified promptly, allowing them to seek other opportunities.
“After careful consideration, Riot Games has made the decision to remove Bleed Esports from the VALORANT Champions Tour and VCT Pacific. Bleed Esports was terminated due to its failure to comply with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations under the Team Participation Agreement (TPA). Removal of a team from the Riot Games esports ecosystem is not something we take lightly.
However, due to persistent operational failures of the team, Bleed Esports will no longer participate in VCT Pacific to protect the best interest of the players and the league. The individual players affected were informed of the decision as soon as it was made to allow them to explore other opportunities as quickly as possible.
In line with our commitment to merit-based qualification, Boom Esports, the runner up from Ascension Pacific 2024, will be promoted into the vacated slot. This change does not affect 2025 formats for VCT Pacific; the league will go forward with 12 teams as planned.”
To maintain the planned 12-team format for the 2025 season, BOOM Esports, the runner-up in the recent VCT Ascension Pacific 2024, will fill the spot left vacant by Bleed. This promotion follows Ascension winners Sin Prisa Gaming, ensuring that the league remains competitive and merit-based.
Bleed Esports had originally joined the VCT Pacific League after winning the Ascension Pacific 2023 tournament in Bangkok. Despite a promising start and roster changes, including the addition of star player Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, the Singaporean organisation struggled to meet Riot’s standards, leading to their early exit.
