The third episode of The Penguin Season 1 is now streaming on HBO GO and HBO (Astro Channel 411 / Unifi TV 401).

The events of The Penguin take place after 2022’s The Batman, as he rises to become the iconic villain from the comics. It will consist of eight episodes in its first season.

Subsequent new episodes continue every Monday, from 30 September 2024.

Starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka “The Penguin”), the DC Studios series continues filmmaker Matt Reeves’ The Batman epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster The Batman. Developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.

Cast includes Colin Farrell (Oz Cobb), Cristin Milioti (Sofia Falcone), Rhenzy Feliz (Victor Aguilar), Michael Kelly (Johnny Viti), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Nadia Maroni), Deirdre O’Connell (Francis Cobb), Clancy Brown (Salvatore Maroni), James Madio (Milos Grapa), Scott Cohen (Luca Falcone), Michael Zegen (Alberto Falcone), Carmen Ejogo (Eve Karlo) and Theo Rossi (Dr. Julian Rush).

Flashback Shows Victor Aguilar Witnessing The Riddler’s Bombings From The Batman & Losing His Family Because Of It

We get to see The Riddler’s bombings from Victor Aguilar’s perspective in a flashback, and it seems he lost his family in the aftermath of the flooding.

Trey Bloom Might Be The Live-Action Debut Of A Terrifying And Fairly-New Batman Villain, Mr. Bloom

This episode of The Penguin introduces a new character named Trey Bloom, a chemist who is making a new psychoactive drug called Bliss based on mushroom spores, for Sofia Falcone.

This is extremely interesting because this might be the live-action debut of a terrifying and fairly new Batman villain named Mr. Bloom.

Created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Mr. Bloom made his comics debut in Batman #43 featuring the story arc ‘Superheavy’ in 2015. Mr. Bloom is able to survive major injuries, including a gunshot in the head. He is able to manipulate his body by changing his size, turning his fingers into claws, and using electricity as well as pyrokinesis with his fingers. He has seeds that grant metahuman powers to people, but those seeds contain radiation that Mr. Bloom can use to murder them and each activation of a seed gives Mr. Bloom more power.

Mr. Bloom’s origin and real name in the comics are still vague, so Trey Bloom might very well be a live-action version or variant of the character.

Sofia Falcone Wants To Use Bliss To Take Over Gotham

She believes that the Riddler’s bombings have made the people of Gotham desperate for an escape, and the Bliss drug will be extremely successful because of that.

It’s also revealed that Carmine Falcone was the one who sent Sofia to Arkham Asylum and that Sofia blames the Penguin for ratting her out, which is why she feels like she can’t trust him.

At the end of the episode, the Penguin and Sofia Falcone get ambushed by the Maroni family, but Victor Aguilar saves them by ramming his car into the Maroni enforcer. However, the Penguin leaves with Victor and then leaves Sofia in the dust.
