Alien: Isolation Is Getting A Sequel After 10 Years

Developer Creative Assembly has announced that they are working on a sequel to the highly acclaimed game Alien: Isolation, in honour of its 10th anniversary.

The creative director of Creative Assembly, Alistair Hope, will be leading the development once again. In a statement on X/Twitter, Hope expressed his excitement about the sequel being in early development and promised to share more details when they’re ready.

Although the developer hasn’t revealed the game’s final title, release window, or target platforms yet, fans are already buzzing with excitement. The first game received rave reviews and sold over 2 million copies, despite not meeting SEGA’s commercial success expectations. It’s great to see the studio responding to the calls for Alien: Isolation 2 from the dedicated fanbase.

For those unfamiliar with Alien: Isolation, it’s a survival horror game set in the Alien universe, featuring Amanda Ripley, daughter of the iconic Ellen Ripley. The game’s success can be attributed to its intense and immersive gameplay, where players must evade and outsmart the xenomorphs instead of facing them head-on.

The Alien franchise as a whole has been making a strong comeback, with the recent movie, Alien: Romulus, receiving high praise. With the success of Alien: Romulus, the franchise seems to be on an upswing, garnering positive reviews and reigniting interest in the iconic series. As we eagerly await more details about the upcoming sequel, it’s safe to say that Alien fans have plenty to look forward to in the near future.

In the meantime, check out our written review of Alien: Romulus.
