Apple Unveils Enhanced iPad Mini with AI & Gaming Capabilities

Apple has unveiled the new iPad mini (iPad mini 7) featuring the powerful A17 Pro chip designed to meet the demands of modern gaming and entertainment. The updated iPad mini comes in four attractive finishes, including a new blue and purple, and boasts an impressive 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display and amazing AI features.

The A17 Pro chip is a game-changer when it comes to gaming performance. With a faster CPU and GPU, and a Neural Engine that is 2x faster than the previous model, it takes gaming to a whole new level. The 6-core CPU with two performance cores and four efficiency cores delivers a 30 percent boost in CPU performance, while the 5-core GPU provides a 25 percent increase in graphics performance compared to the previous generation.

This means that whether you’re creating content in design apps or playing graphics-intensive games like Zenless Zone Zero, you can enjoy powerful performance on the go. Plus, with support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing that’s 4x faster than software-based ray tracing, as well as features like Dynamic Caching and hardware-accelerated mesh shading, the new iPad mini offers a truly immersive gaming experience.

The new iPad mini features a 12MP wide back camera with Smart HDR 4, delivering stunning and detailed photos. Thanks to the 16-core Neural Engine, it uses AI to automatically identify documents in the Camera app and utilizes the True Tone flash to remove shadows. The 12MP Ultra Wide front-facing camera in portrait orientation, with support for Centre Stage, provides versatility for various uses.

The Apple Pencil Pro unlocks powerful interactions, turning the iPad mini into a portable sketchbook. It can sense a user’s squeeze, bringing up a tool palette to swiftly switch tools, line weights, and colours. With support for Find My and a new magnetic interface, the iPad mini also supports the Apple Pencil (USB-C) for note-taking, sketching, and more.

The new iPad mini boasts all-day battery life and introduces exciting new features with the latest iPadOS 18.

Powered by the A17 Pro chip, the new iPad mini provides support for Apple Intelligence. Integrated deeply into iPadOS 18, Apple Intelligence leverages the capabilities of Apple silicon and Apple-built generative models to comprehend and generate language and images, perform actions across apps, and utilize personal context to simplify and expedite daily tasks. The initial set of Apple Intelligence features will be accessible in U.S. English this month through a free software update with iPadOS 18.1, and will be compatible with iPad models featuring A17 Pro or M1 chips and later.

Apple’s new iPad mini is available for purchase on apple.com/my/store, and Apple Authorized Resellers. The new iPad mini comes in blue, purple, starlight, and space grey and is priced at RM2,199 for the Wi-Fi model and RM2,899 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.

This latest model starts with 128GB of storage, which is double the storage of the previous generation, and is also available in 256GB and 512GB configurations. Additionally, the Apple Pencil Pro is compatible with the new iPad mini and is available for purchase.

Apple Arcade is a family-friendly gaming experience that offers access to its entire game library for up to six family members under a single subscription. The service costs RM29.90 per month and comes with a one-month free trial. Plus, customers who purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV will receive three months of free Apple Arcade subscription.

The available monthly plans include Individual (RM34.90), Family (RM44.90), and Premier (RM84.90). For more information about the subscription service, you can visit the Apple Arcade official website.
