The Beginning After The End Anime Adaptation To Release Next Year

At New York Comic Con, exciting news broke for fans of TurtleMe’s The Beginning After The End webnovel and webcomic adaptation. The franchise is set to receive a television anime adaptation in 2025, with Crunchyroll streaming it worldwide, excluding Asia but including India. A promotional video hinted at “Season 1” being in the works.

Notably, this marks the first-ever anime adaptation of an American webnovel and webcomic, according to Tapas Entertainment.

Veteran director Keitaro Motonaga (Date A Live, Katanagatari) will lead the project at Studio A-Cat, with Takamitsu K?no overseeing the script, and character designs by Masami Sueoka. Composer Keiji Inai will provide the music, and Slow Curve will produce the anime. TurtleMe, the series’ creator, serves as both story supervisor and executive producer, alongside other key figures from Tapas and TurtleMe LLC.

In Japan, the anime will be titled Saiky? no ?-sama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru?, mirroring the webcomic’s Japanese title.

First published on Tapas in January 2017, The Beginning After The End now boasts over 1,465 episodes. It follows the adventures of King Grey, reborn as Arthur Leywin, navigating a world brimming with magic and danger. The webcomic adaptation, launched in 2018, has captivated millions of readers, with Season 6’s art recently taken over by Rise Entertainment.

The franchise is a global success, with over 61.8 million combined reads and a revenue of nearly US$500,000 monthly. Fans can look forward to more exciting content, with Yen Press continuing to release the webcomic in print, and the seventh volume set for release in March 2025.
