LEGO Horizon Adventures Confirms Replacement for late Lance Reddick

Guerrilla Games has confirmed that the late Lance Reddick will be replaced as the voice of Sylens in LEGO Horizon Adventures.
Sylens was a key character in the two games that inspired LEGO Horizon Adventures. He acted as a reluctant and mysterious ally to Aloy while pursuing his own agenda behind the scenes. The late Lance Reddick’s performance provided Sylens with a distinctive sinister tone, significantly impact the game’s storyline.
Tragically, Lance Reddick passed away in March 2023 at the age of 60 due to coronary artery disease and atherosclerotic heart disease. Fans of his work in both the Horizon games and Destiny 2 paid tribute to Reddick through special in-game events and commemorative artwork. Guerrilla Games also honoured him in the Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC. While Keith David was cast to replace Reddick as Commander Zavala in Destiny 2, how Guerrilla Games would address Sylens’s voice going forward remained uncertain.
Now, that question has been answered regarding the upcoming LEGO Horizon Adventures. Lucas Bolt, Senior World Artist at Guerrilla Games, recently confirmed that Sylens will have a new voice actor, although he did not specify who will be taking over this beloved role.
“Lance Reddick tragically passed away in 2023, and he is deeply missed within Guerrilla and our community. He wonderfully portrayed the essential character of Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. The character of Sylens does appear in LEGO Horizon Adventures, and we will introduce the new actor at a later date. Hearing the voices of other original actors including Ashly Burch as Aloy, JB Blanc as Rost, John Macmillan as Varl and John Hopkins as Erend has really brought back the tone of comradery found in the original game.”
Other Horizon voice actors, such as Ashly Burch (Aloy), JB Blanc (Rost), John Macmillan (Varl), and John Hopkins (Erend), are reprising their roles in LEGO Horizon Adventures.
Co-developed by Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo, LEGO Horizon Adventures features a playful and light-hearted story inspired by the events of the Horizon universe. The game is scheduled for release on 15 November 2024 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
