Black Ops 6 Update Sees Flashbangs, Recon, & Snaking Nerfed
By Lewis "lickety" Larcombe|November 5, 2024|0 Comment
The November 4 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 packs several impactful changes to balance gameplay. Flashbangs, Recon bonuses, and the notorious “snaking” movement exploit have all been nerfed. Here’s what’s changed:
Treyarch has officially reduced “snaking” – a movement tactic where players rapidly switch between prone and crouch, making them harder to hit. The update adds a cooldown, slowing this exploit significantly.
The Recon Combat Speciality, which previously provided substantial enemy intel, now offers only brief wall hacks (1.5 seconds down from 2). This reduces its effectiveness, addressing complaints of it being overpowered.
The overpowered flashbangs have also been toned down, with their blinding effect lasting 20% less. However, no changes were made to the current XP exploit associated with flashbang use.
Popular assault rifles, including the XM4, Ames 85, and Model L, have had slight damage and range reductions, while all SMGs got a mid-range damage boost, making them more competitive in varied firefights.
Nuketown, a fan-favourite map, now appears in private matches, following its initial 24/7 playlist addition on 1 November.
This patch also fixes issues with spawning logic, loadout selection, and the Recon Speciality in Multiplayer, along with stability improvements for both multiplayer and Zombies modes.
For the full patch notes, including minor weapon tuning, stability fixes, and Zombies mode tweaks, check Activision’s release.
