LEGO Horizon Adventures Recasts Sylens with Star Trek Actor
By Alisha Alix|November 13, 2024|0 Comment
With the highly anticipated release of LEGO Horizon Adventures just around the corner, fans are eager to learn more about the upcoming title, including the casting news surrounding the character Sylens. Following the tragic passing of Lance Reddick, who brought the character to life in the Horizon series until his untimely death last March at the age of 60, the role has officially been recast.
Sylens serves as the deuteragonist in Horizon Zero Dawn and returns in its sequel, where he plays a crucial role alongside the protagonist, Aloy, although he acted as a reluctant and mysterious ally while pursuing his own agenda behind the scenes.
Lucas Bolt, a Senior World Artist at Guerrilla Games, recently confirmed that Sylens will have a new voice actor in LEGO Horizon Adventures, though he did not disclose the identity of the new talent at the time.
It has now been revealed that Tim Russ, a seasoned actor and voice actor known for his work in Fallout 4, Horizon Forbidden West, and The Last of Us Part II, has step into the role of Sylens for the LEGO adaptation. Russ is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Lieutenant Commander Tuvok in the Star Trek series, making him a familiar face to fans of science fiction.
The decision to recast Sylens could indicate that Russ may also lend his voice to future installments of the Horizon franchise, although Guerrilla Games has yet to confirm any plans regarding this.
In remembrance of Lance Reddick, Guerrilla Games created a memorial for him in the Burning Shores expansion of Horizon: Forbidden West. The conclusion of this DLC hinted at significant storylines involving Reddick’s character in the next Horizon game, although it’s still uncertain how this will play out in light of recent developments.
Developed by Guerrilla Games in collaboration with Studio Gobo, LEGO Horizon Adventures promises a playful and light-hearted narrative inspired by the rich lore of the Horizon universe. Be sure to check out our in-depth review of the game for more insights!
The game is set to launch on 15 November 2024 and will be available for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
