PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida Is Leaving The Company Early Next Year
By Kakuchopurei|November 27, 2024|0 Comment
All good things have to come to an end, and that is certainly the case with prolific champion of indie games and all things PlayStation Shuhei Yoshida.
The Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Head of Indie Initiative will leave PlayStation and SIE after 31 years of service with the corporate giant. His last day with the company is 15 January 2025.
To recap, Shuhei Yoshida joined Ken Kutanagi’s PlayStation team in 1993, being the first non-technical person to join the team. He eventually worked his way up to being president of PlayStation Studios (his “contribution” to Demon’s Souls being a “highlight”), and then becoming Head of Indies Initiative at Sony Interactive.
Here are some of our favourite Shuhei Yoshida moments throughout gaming history. Thank you for being an icon for PlayStation, and all the best in your future endeavours.
