Here’s What Tom Holland and Kevin Feige Officially Said About The Recent Spider-Man Kerfuffle
By Kakuchopurei|August 25, 2019|0 Comment
As of right now, the MCU and Sony live-action Spiderverses are in disarray. To sum it up, Sony and Disney are in conflicts about the film license’s rights which involves producer rights and/or a whole lot of money split 50-50. After a few days of silence, Spider-Man: Homecoming/Far From Home star Tom Holland and MCU film producer Kevin Feige shared their personal feelings in public on Entertainment Weekly.
We’ll start with Tom Holland.
“Basically, we’ve made five great movies. It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life.
It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler.”
And now, a few words from Kevin Feige, MCU overlord.
“I’m feeling about Spider-Man gratitude and joy… We got to make five films within the MCU with Spider-Man: two standalone films and three with the Avengers. It was a dream that I never thought would happen.
It was never meant to last forever. We knew there was a finite amount of time that we’d be able to do this, and we told the story we wanted to tell, and I’ll always be thankful for that.”
Welp, that’s one way to spin the story and answer in the most non-antagonizing way possible. Still, it doesn’t confirm whether Spider-Man will find his way into the MCU anymore and whether Marvel is ready to share plans for a Spider-free/filled universe.
We’ll be getting more Spider-Man movies, that’s for sure. Whether they’ll be another Into The Spiderverse or another Amazing Spider-Man, that remains to be seen.
