Modern Warfare Takes A Leaf Out of Its Original Game With Multiple SP Characters
By Burhanudin Zamri|September 27, 2019|0 Comment
To this day, I remember the rush of the original Modern Warfare‘s first mission ‘Crew Expendable’ which had us storming onto a container ship in the middle of a storm and then the frantic escape as the ship falls apart after being attacked by fighter jets.
Despite not being a big fan of shooters, I’m still really excited for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot’s singleplayer campaign. It’s bound to be full of cinematic moments interlaced with heart-pumping tactical action. They’re also bringing back that whole multiple protagonists shtick.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y3mojuTWro&w=560&h=315]Most Call of Duty singleplayer campaigns involve multiple military organisations carrying out missions around the world. Players are usually swapping places throughout the campaign so that they get a clearer perspective of the entire scenario.
In Modern Warfare, we’ll be playing as three different characters: SAS soldier Sergeant Kyle Garrick, CIA operator Alex, and Urzikstan freedom fighter Farah Karim. I’m actually a bit disappointed because I thought we’d be playing as Captain Price but being able to fight alongside him is still pretty neat. Something tells me Price will actually stab us in the back.
According to the developers, the game seeks to explore the grey areas in which military operatives are forced to make split second decisions. They’ve consulted experts from military organisations, writers, and even journalists. Still, it’s another ‘major superpowers using terrorists to wage proxy wars and still biochemical weapons’ plot.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One on 25 October 2019. For more news and our review of the game, stay tuned on Kakuchopurei.
