You’ll Need A Lot Of Space For Call Of Duty Modern Warfare On PC [Update]

Update 11/10/19:

In a new blog post, Activision has revealed the reason players will need such an ungodly amount of storage space. According to the publisher, 175GB is only the recommended initial storage space so that players will be able to download the game’s post-launch content.

Activision also stated that the initial download or install size for Call Of Duty Modern Warfare on PC will be smaller than 175GB at launch, though they neglected to mention an exact or approximate number.

In addition, they also announced the final hardware specs required to play Call Of Duty Modern Warfare on PC for different gameplay situations:

Minimum Specs:

Here are the Minimum specs needed to play Modern Warfare:

  • Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-Bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon HD 7950
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • HDD: 175GB HD space
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Recommended Specs:

Here are Recommended Specs to run at 60fps in most situations with all options set to medium:

We’re only two weeks away from the release of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, and the PC specs have been leaked ahead of time. Players might be surprised to discover how much actual space they’ll need to install the game on their rigs, let alone start playing it.

According to leaked specs from Battle.net (via Windows Central), Call Of Duty Modern Warfare will require a mindboggling 175GB on PC, which is absolutely insane. One wonders how big the game will be on consoles, though only truly massive open-world games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey have previously breached the 100GB threshold.

Here are the minimum and recommended spec requirements for Call Of Duty Modern Warfare on PC:
