Kingdom Hearts Dark Road Details Revealed, To Be Included In Union χ
By Melvyn Tan|February 19, 2020|0 Comment
A new Kingdom Hearts mobile game, Dark Road, will allow players to discover the past of series villain Xehanort.
Unfortunately, that’s pretty much the only thing that’s been revealed about the story so far. You do, however, get to see a rather dashing, chibi version of Xehanort in the released screenshots.
The gameplay details aren’t fleshed out much either, but they paint a clearer picture of what to expect at least. “Exhilarating, high-speed battles that depend on reflexes!” are what Dark Road boasts.
Dark Road will be combined with the other Kingdom Hearts mobile game, Union χ [Cross], to form Kingdom Hearts Uχ Dark Road. What this means is that you’ll be launching Dark Road from the Union χ title screen. Otherwise, it’s a standalone game that doesn’t require you to play Union χ.
Also announced is a Dark Road and Uχ Link Campaign, where you can earn points by completing your Uχ Medal Album and trade them for cards that can be used during battles.
However, you’ll need to have played Uχ before Dark Road‘s release, because after Dark Road‘s release, further album progress won’t translate to points in Dark Road. The campaign is also a one-off thing made for Dark Road‘s release.
It’s cool to see Xehonort’s past being explored, but the reaction to Dark Road on Twitter has been largely negative so far. What do you think about Dark Road‘s reveal?
