A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CGI Reboot Is Coming From Seth Rogen
By Alleef Ashaari|July 1, 2020|0 Comment
Nickelodeon has announced that it is rebooting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the big screen. The producers will be Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, with Jeff Rowe (of Gravity Falls and the upcoming Sony Pictures Animation’s Connected fame) as director.
According to Deadline, Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors: Sorority Rising, Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates) will write the screenplay, while Paramount will distribute the movie worldwide.
The new TMNT movie reboot will be a CGI animated movie. It will be Nickelodeon Animation Studio’s first-ever CG theatrical production. The last two movies in 2014 and 2016 were live-action, but were not well-received. The last animated movie in the franchise was Warner Bros.’ TMNT back in 2007.
Nickelodeon recently brought the franchise to life again in 2012 with the CGI animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the new 2D animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles last year.

No release date has been announced as of yet. It’s good to hear that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is still getting movie adaptations and the like, despite Michael Bay’s attempts at ‘destroying’ the franchise. 2007’s TMNT wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty great, so let’s see if this new one can top that.
