SDCC 2020: Best Of Day 2
By Alleef Ashaari|July 25, 2020|0 Comment
We’re already in Day Two of the San Diego Comic-Con 2020 (SDCC 2020), or rather, Comic-Con At Home 2020. Throughout the day, we’ll gradually update this article with more exciting reveals and announcements from a variety of panels as they come in.
Check them out below (or head on over here for the Best Of Day One):
During an IGN Live panel at Comic-Con At Home, a teaser video was released, which referenced running jokes from the network’s shows, including the Golden Mullet Award, Sessler’s Soapbox and Rot Gut. It ends on a game of Pong, before the surprise appearance of the G4 logo, a 2021 date, and a tagline; “We never stopped playing”.
While no details have been revealed, the video does tease the return of G4 and X-Play, either as a TV network again or as an online show (which seems more likely), in 2021.

G4 was a video games-focused TV network that ran from 2002 to 2014. One of its most popular programmings was X-Play, which ran from 1998 to 2013Â and featured everything from game reviews to gaming-related skits.
The network also helped launch the careers of Geoff Keighley, Olivia Munn and other notable figures in the gaming coverage industry.

History has finally dropped the first trailer for the second half of Vikings Season 6 during its Comic-Con At Home panel. This will be the ending to the entire series and act as the final season, which is set to air later this year, though a premiere date has yet to be announced.
Vikings creator Michael Hirst said:
“The characters who we all have grown to love with all have their fates decided, whether they live or die is in the hands of the gods, but of course, I had a hand in it too.
I think the conclusion of the saga is deeply satisfying, a proper and meaningful ending.
I hope all of our fans will feel the same way.
I tried to do justice to all of my characters and I hope I succeeded.â€

HBO’s upcoming supernatural horror show Lovecraft Country has received a new trailer, featuring a cloer look at what seems to be none other than Cthulhu himself and other monsters.
Based on the novel of the same name by Matt Ruff (and not an actual work of H.P. Lovecraft), the series follows a Black family from Chicago as they investigate their family history and face a racist cult with Lovecraftian elements.
Impressively, the show’s executive producers include the likes of J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele. It is slated to premiere on 16 August 2020.

There aren’t many details on this just yet, but renowned Japanese horror mangaka Junji Ito said recently that Hideo Kojima contacted him about working together on a new horror game. During an interview at SDCC 2020 (via ComicBook), he has been in conversation with the director behind the Metal Gear series and that one futuristic postman game.
“I do know director Kojima and we have been in conversation that he may have a horror-based game that he may be doing, and so he has invited me to work on that, but there are no details on it yet.”
Kojima stated before that he wants to do a “revolutionary” horror game ever since the P.T. demo happened a while back, so it’s natural that his next project after Death Stranding is going to be a horror game.
